世珍（高小英）獨(dú)自住在一幢高層豪華公寓中的一間某日深夜，拖著疲憊身軀在地鐵站等車(chē)時(shí)，一神秘女子突然將她拉住欲一起跳軌，驚魂甫定，女子已命喪黃泉。加上工作中為如何布置櫥窗以迎即將到來(lái)的圣誕節(jié)與合作伙伴發(fā)生沖突，她開(kāi)始夜夜被噩夢(mèng)折磨。勉強(qiáng)稱(chēng)作開(kāi)心的事，是某日晨跑時(shí)結(jié)識(shí)住于對(duì)面公寓的殘疾女孩柔妍（張熙珍）。柔妍自言父母雖然雙亡，卻托好心鄰居照料活得幸福，并在談話(huà)結(jié)束一刻，相交她一個(gè)魔方。世珍察覺(jué)到柔妍所住的房間有異樣，之后用望遠(yuǎn)鏡夜夜觀察，更發(fā)現(xiàn)時(shí)間每走到9點(diǎn)56分，整幢公寓便會(huì)齊齊熄燈，而次日清晨，會(huì)有一具尸體被拖出。世珍的行為被女高中生（樸夏善）發(fā)現(xiàn)并告知母親，其母報(bào)警，但世珍沒(méi)將警察的警告當(dāng)回事。不久，女高中生主動(dòng)向世珍道歉，兩人成為朋友，而她屢屢玩不轉(zhuǎn)魔方令世珍發(fā)現(xiàn)藏于其中的與柔妍有關(guān)的秘密，倒吸一口涼氣
